Rajinikanth Gets Candid On Upcoming Elections: "I am Even Afraid To Breathe"

With India gearing up for seven-phase Lok Sabha elections starting in April, Rajinikanth humorously expressed his apprehension about speaking out during such times

A new branch of a well-known hospital was inaugurated in Chennai with Rajinikanth gracing the event as the chief guest. The iconic actor at the event shared a candid moment, revealing his past hospitalization for a major surgery. However, it was his light-hearted remark about election season that stole the spotlight. With India gearing up for seven-phase Lok Sabha elections starting in April, Rajinikanth humorously expressed his apprehension about speaking out during such times.

Praising the hospital, Rajinikanth humorously remarked, “In the past, when people asked where Kauvery hospital was, they’d say it’s near Kamal Haasan’s house. Now, when asked about Kamal’s house, people say it’s near Kauvery Hospital. These are just light-hearted observations; please don’t misconstrue them as any kind of rivalry with Kamal.”

He added, “Honestly, I didn’t plan on speaking today, but I was requested to say a few words. When I asked if there would be many media outlets present, I was told there would only be a few. Now, seeing all these cameras, I must admit I’m a bit nervous, especially considering it’s election time. I’m even afraid to breathe (laughs).”

Rajinikanth also shared his gratitude towards the hospital staff, recalling his own experience undergoing treatment there and praising their discipline and dedication. He expressed his appreciation for the medical professionals who have contributed to his well-being over the years.

As for his professional endeavours, Rajinikanth is currently filming for “Vettaiyan,” directed by TJ Gnanvel. The movie features Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, and Rana Daggubati in significant roles. Rajinikanth is slated to travel to Kerala for the next phase of filming.
