“At the Chennai airport today, two individuals who arrived from Dubai tested positive. They were both from Tamil Nadu’s Pudukkottai’s Alangudi district. Their test results were forwarded to the State Public Health Laboratory ” stated Health Department.

According to reports, at least 39 foreign travellers have tested positive for Covid infection in the previous three days, after the Indian government began randomly testing overseas passengers arriving at airports for Coronavirus on December 24.

Sources on Tuesday informed “The total number of international flights screened in the previous three days, December 24, 25, and 26, is 498. There were 1,780 samples obtained for Covid19 testing. The total number of samples gathered is 3,994. The total number of positive tests is 39, and the total number of samples sent for whole genome sequencing is 39.”

In light of the recent increase in Covid-19 in various nations, hospitals throughout India organised a Covid-19 mock exercise. The fake exercise was designed to assess Covid-19 readiness in terms of resources, protocol, and personnel.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, visited Safdarjung Hospital to see the mock drill.
