BJP President JP Nadda has issued a notice seeking clarification from party leader Dilip Ghosh regarding his recent comments about West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

In a letter addressed to Ghosh, the BJP stated that his remarks were deemed indecent, unparliamentary, and contrary to the party’s traditions. The BJP strongly condemned such comments and requested an explanation from Ghosh on the matter.

Earlier, the Trinamool Congress filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India against Bharatiya Janata Party leader Dilip Ghosh for allegedly making controversial remarks about Mamata Banerjee.

The Trinamool Congress accused Ghosh of violating the Model Code of Conduct by making personal remarks against Mamata Banerjee.

During a press conference in Durgapur, BJP MP Dilip Ghosh commented that wherever Mamata Banerjee goes, she identifies herself as the daughter of that state and suggested that she should first identify her own father.

Citing the clause under the poll code that prohibits attacks on personal lives or making malicious statements, the TMC urged the Election Commission to take immediate action against Ghosh.

The remarks by Ghosh have sparked criticism from TMC leaders, with some labeling them as misogynistic and disrespectful.

West Bengal Minister Shashi Panja criticized Ghosh, stating that individuals like him should be defeated in elections and condemning the BJP’s alleged attacks on women and Mamata Banerjee.

The TMC emphasized the importance of respecting women and called for action by the Election Commission against such behavior, expressing concern over the impact of such remarks on women’s safety and empowerment.
