Rajiv Ranjan Singh, the party’s national president, presided over the gathering.

The party’s national president, Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Babu, presided over the National Council of Janata Dal-United meeting, which was held in the Karpuri auditorium housed in the Bihar State JDU headquarters, according to a party official.

A number of party heavyweights, including Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, attended the meeting.

Upendra Kushwaha, the national president of the party’s parliamentary board, was in attendance, along with state presidents from other states, national office holders, members of the national council, MPs, ministers from the Bihar government, and MLAs.

In the meanwhile, today in Delhi, five Janata Dal (United) MLAs who had merged with the governing BJP joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Party President JP Nadda was there.
