Kargil Vijay Diwas: Rajnath Singh pays tribute to soldiers at National War Memorial

Kargil War took place from May 3 to July 26, 1999, after the Pakistani troops were identified at the Kargil hills. As the war ended on July 26, 1999, Indian troops established triumph by recapturing all Indian posts held by Pakistani infiltrators.

India commemorates 23 years of its victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War on Tuesday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid tribute to soldiers who died in the 1999 Kargil War and placed a wreath at the National War Memorial in Delhi.
Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed annually on July 26 to honor the sacrifice of the soldiers who died in the line of duty during the Kargil War. Army Chief General Manoj Pande, Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar, and Air Force Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari laid wreaths at National War Memorial.
