Senior BJP leader and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled for a series of visits to Odisha, commencing on Thursday, where he will engage with party members and address a public event in Mayurbhanj district.

This visit is part of the Defence Minister’s two-day tour of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, concluding on Thursday. On Wednesday, Singh delivered a speech at the inaugural event of the MILAN 2024 International Seminar in Vishakhapatnam. MILAN 2024 marks the Indian Navy’s largest multilateral naval exercise, featuring an impressive lineup of warships from Indian and foreign navies participating in the Harbour Phase in Vizag.

Singh is set to depart for Odisha from Vishakhapatnam shortly to attend meetings with ex-servicemen, BJP party officials, and participate in public gatherings. This day-long visit to Odisha is integral to the schedule of senior BJP leaders touring various Lok Sabha constituencies in preparation for the 2024 general elections and the Odisha Assembly polls.

The Defence Minister will commence the “cluster tour” with a meeting with party workers in Nabarangapur and Berhampur districts, followed by a public meeting in Mayurbhanj, Odisha.

In a recent post on his social media handle, the Defence Minister shared, “Tomorrow, February 22, I shall be on a cluster tour in Odisha. Looking forward to addressing Karyakarta Sammelans at Nabarangapur & Berhampur and a public meeting at Mayurbhanj. @BJP4Odisha.”

Singh is expected to arrive in Nabarangpur from neighbouring Chhattisgarh this morning to engage in discussions with ex-servicemen and party workers. Subsequently, he will proceed to Berhampur, where he will evaluate the party’s readiness for the upcoming elections during another meeting with party officials.

Later in the day, around 4 pm, the Minister will arrive at Baripada stadium in Mayurbhanj district to deliver a speech to the public audience, highlighting the BJP’s vision and objectives for the region. This visit signifies the BJP’s focused efforts in Odisha, aiming to connect with grassroots workers and the public ahead of crucial electoral events.
