India’s UN Representative, Ruchira Kamboj, Reiterates Support for Palestinians on International Solidarity Day, Emphasizing India’s Commitment to a Negotiated Two-State Solution and a Zero-Tolerance Stance on Terrorism.

Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, Kamboj said, “Let me reaffirm our long-standing relationship with the Palestinian people based on deep-rooted historical and people-to-people ties and our consistent support to the people of Palestine in the endeavour for statehood, peace and prosperity.”

“India has a zero-tolerance approach to terrorism. We also believe that there is a universal obligation to observe international humanitarian law,” she added.

Kamboj also denounced the loss of civilian lives, underscoring that such casualties are unequivocally unacceptable.

“In addressing this humanitarian crisis, it is necessary for all parties to display the utmost responsibility,” she said.

She additionally called for collective efforts from the international community to facilitate de-escalation and the provision of humanitarian assistance to the people of Palestine. Kamboj expressed that the humanitarian pauses are a positive measure to guarantee the timely and uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid.

Furthermore, Kamboj pointed out that India has dispatched 70 tonnes of humanitarian aid, which includes 16.5 tonnes of medications and medical supplies.

“We are aware that the immediate trigger was the terror attacks in Israel on October 7, which were shocking and deserve our unequivocal condemnation. There can be no justification for terrorism and hostage-taking,” she said.
