Noida’s authority recently concluded a month-long drive to reclaim land from illegal colonisers, successfully freeing up approximately 56,885 square meters of land across eight villages. According to officials, the estimated value of the reclaimed land stands at a whopping ₹236.80 crore based on prevailing market rates.

Lokesh M, the CEO of Noida Authority, has directed the land and civil departments to collaborate closely to combat the issue of encroachment and unauthorized construction projects. These unscrupulous activities not only encroach upon government land but also deceive unsuspecting buyers with promises of cheap plots.

“Our joint teams have conducted extensive drives, demolishing unauthorized structures within our designated areas. Our commitment to eradicating unauthorized construction remains unwavering,” stated the CEO.

The drive, spanning from March 12 to April 13, saw coordinated efforts by the authority’s teams across various villages, including Sadarpur, Salarpur, Sorkha Jahidabad, Mamura, Gulavali, Assadullapur, Moyiyapur, and Garhi Samastipur.

“During the operation, 17 land record numbers (khasra numbers) were identified where illegal activities were rampant. These unscrupulous elements were involved in selling residential and commercial plots without proper authorization,” revealed a Noida Authority official, who preferred anonymity.

What Is The Regulation?

As per regulations outlined in the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Act of 1976, any development or plot division requires prior approval from the authority. The identified land falls under the jurisdiction of planned development in Noida, prohibiting unauthorized construction activities without requisite approvals.

“We continually urge the public to refrain from investing in these illegal projects. The authority will not hesitate to demolish such constructions,” emphasized the official.

The concerted efforts of the Noida Authority underline their commitment to upholding the integrity of planned development in the region, ensuring a secure and regulated real estate landscape for residents and investors alike.
