More than 1500 students joined the Mashaal Juloos organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on Tuesday night. This event was part of the campaign leading up to the student union polls at the university.

Starting from Ganga Dhaba at JNU and proceeding to the Chandrabhaga hostel, the Juloos saw participation from numerous students across various departments of the university.

Led by ABVP president candidate Umesh Chandra Ajmira, vice president candidate Deepika Sharma, secretary candidate Arjun Anand, and joint secretary candidate Govind Dangi, who also took part in the Bharat Mata Yatra, the torch march resounded with slogans like “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram.”

ABVP JNU Unit Secretary Vikas Patel expressed enthusiasm about the massive turnout, noting that it signaled a shift in the upcoming JNU Student Union elections, with the ABVP expected to make significant strides across all four seats.

The ABVP has officially announced its candidates for the JNU Students Union elections, including President, Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, and 42 counsellor positions. The election for the counsellors will take place across 16 schools and various combined centres.
