Concerning the launch of Chandrayaan 3, Somanath stated, “On July 14 at 2.35 pm, Chandrayaan-3 will lift off, and if everything goes well, it will land (on the moon August 23. The date is determined based on when the sunrise is on the moon and will depend on the calculations, but if it gets delayed, we will have to keep the landing for the next month in September.”On July 14 at 2.35 pm, the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, will launch the Chandrayaan-3 mission.

To demonstrate end-to-end capability in safe landing and wandering on the lunar surface, Chandrayaan 3 is a follow-up mission to Chandrayaan-2. On August 23 or 24, Chandrayaan 3’s lander is planned to soft-land on the MoonMoon’sface.

He added that Chandrayaan 3’s safe and smooth landing was ISRO’s top priority. “A safe and smooth landing is our primary goal; if that occurs, all equipment will function normally. The landing system is functioning properly. After landing, the rover will emerge. It has six wheels, and we anticipate it will operate on the Moon for 14 days. We will get pictures thanks to the rover’s several cameras. The rover is equipped with a solar panel. We’ve already tested it, and the battery works well,” Somanath continued.
