Netflix just dropped the first look at Emily in Paris season 5, and, yes Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) is off to Italy. This time, she’s juggling her usual mess of career twists and romantic drama, only now with Roman architecture in the background.

When is Emily in Paris Season 5 releasing?

The new season lands on Netflix on December 18.

So, what’s Emily actually up to? Netflix released a handful of photos showing her soaking up the Roman sun, launching Agence Grateau’s new office. There’s Emily on a boat, rocking a black-and-white polka-dot bikini and sunglasses. Another shot? She’s standing next to Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini), reins in hand, horse at her side, and yeah, they look pretty cozy.

Plot-wise, this season isn’t about to let Emily off easy. The official synopsis hints at another spiral: just when she thinks she’s got it together, a risky work idea blows up in her face. Cue heartbreak, career setbacks, and the whole “lean into your French lifestyle” thing until a huge secret shakes up her inner circle. Same old Emily, honestly. Fans can probably expect her to stumble, reconnect, and somehow find a fresh start. Again.

Emily in Paris Season 5 cast

Most of the regulars are back: Ashley Park (Mindy), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie), Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc), William Abadie (Antoine), and Lucien Laviscount (Alfie).

The new faces include Thalia Besson, Paul Forman, Arnaud Binard, Minnie Driver, Bryan Greenberg, and Michèle Laroque.

Now, if you’re worried Paris is out of the picture, don’t be. Darren Star, the show’s creator, cleared that up. In a recent chat, he said Emily’s just working in Rome for a bit—Sylvie’s company is opening an office there, but Paris isn’t going anywhere.

Even President Macron got in on the jokes, promising to “fight hard” to keep the show in the French capital. Variety confirmed it: some scenes are set in Rome, but Paris is still the heart of the story.
