Mnet’s newly minted I-LAND 2 idol, Yoon Ji Yoon, has broken many hearts with her exit from K-pop group izna as a result of health concerns. izna debuted under WAKEONE Entertainment in November 2024, having left audiences in awe with their bold confidence and unique sound. The announcement of Yoon’s exit on August 19, 2025 also signifies the group moving on as a six-member group.

Yoon Ji Yoon: The Voice of izna
The July 14, 2005 born runner-up on I-LAND 2, earned the position with 471,699 votes, Yoon Ji Yoon’s appeal lay in her distinctive vocal and sharp stage presence, she immediately gained the main vocalist position for izna. She was previously a trainee from The Black Label and was inspired to become an idol during her high school days because of her love for music.
Some of her trademark hashtags, #UniqueVoice and #OnPointShoulders reflected the lure she had, while her love for pistachio ice cream and diary-writings bequeathed her to fans. Though her term with izna was short, she left an impact via her performances in songs such as “IZNA” and “Final Love Song.”.
Health Issues and Temporary Hiatus
In February of 2025, only three months after izna debuted, WAKEONE announced the temporary break of Yoon from the group due to unspecified health reasons, with an emphasis on recovery. Fans, dubbed as naya, rallied with words of support hoping she would be able to rejoin the group.

After Yoon had six months of recovery, and talks with the agency, both parties, Yoon and WAKEONE, decided on her leaving the group because health is top priority. Mixed feelings were ignited with some fans questioning WAKEONE’s transparency, while others praised the focus on her well-being.

The Vision of izna Moving Forward as a Six-Member Group
With Yoon’s exit, izna-now Mai, Bang Jee-min, Koko, Ryu Sa-rang, Choi Jung-eun, and Jeong Sae-bi-continues to soar. Although, the group is affected by Yoon’s absence but they will be working hard for their comeback.
Their digital single “Sign” (March 2025) and “BEEP” (June 2025) showcased emotional interpretations, even winning for a music show on The Show. Fans hope for Yoon’s recovery as they move with izna, proving resilient through all the changes.
