The film After It Ends With Us, directed by and starring Justin Baldoni, legal counsel representing the filmmaker has responded to bullying claims leveled by his co-star on the film, Isabela Ferrer. The current court filing by Ferrer accused Baldoni of harassment and bullying, the former star was a younger version of Blake Lively, star of the film. The emergence of this has been related to the current high-profile court tussle between Baldoni and Blake Lively.
According to lawyers of Ferrer, Baldoni and his production company Wayfarer Studios are placing financial coercions to dictate the reaction of Ferrer over a subpoena she has received by the legal representatives of Lively. They purport that the company was not willing to shoulder her legal expenses that are contractually her due unless she caused her to “give up her rights” to respond in court.
Subpoena Showdown
The centerpiece of the squabble is subpoenas against Isabela Ferrer. The legal team of Blake Lively became the first to subpoena the phone of Ferrer in regard to the on-going case between Lively and Baldoni. She was also subpoenaed subsequently by the team of Baldoni. When the representatives of the interviewer Ferrer stated that she was harassed, Baldoni representatives made a motion stating that their subpoena was an attempt in good faith effort to obtain records that had not been sought or supplied in response to a subpoena made by Lively.
According to them, the allegation of harassment is baseless, and the real intention is so that Ferrer does not have to associate with the litigation. The lawyers of Baldoni have also asked the court to compel the two sides not to use the information provided or about Ferrer in the trial because she does not want to be involved in the legal battle.
Accusations of Financial Manipulation
The accomplished law career of Isabela Ferrer has taken a notch higher with her legal team further accusing Baldoni that her acts are part of what can be termed as a larger plan to bully Ms. Ferrer. They claim that the lawsuit action by the director is meant to harass a young upcoming actress. The litigators aver that the intransigence of the production company to pay her contractual expenses of covering her litigation costs unless she relinquished authority to her in responding to her subpoena was nothing more than an open plea at financial extortion.
They claim that this pressure is connected directly to a larger legal conflict of Baldoni with Blake Lively. The two legal sides have been filing and countering each other ever since in this multifaceted case that is set to be tried in March 2026.
