Hindus observe the sacred festival of Vijay Ekadashi to worship Lord Vishnu on February 13 2026. The Ekadashi celebration takes place during the Krishna Paksha period of Phalgun month, which people throughout the world observe as the “Giver of Victory” festival.

Devotees from every part of the globe maintain a complete fast today to seek divine assistance in overcoming their life obstacles and achieving triumph over both personal and outside challenges.

Vijaya Ekadashi Vrat Significance

The essential nature of this day exists through the practice of complete victory, which comes from spiritual training. The ancient scriptures state that Vijaya Ekadashi marks the holy day when Lord Rama followed Sage Bakadalbhya’s guidance to cross the ocean and defeat Ravana.

The modern practitioner who fasts on February 13 will experience two benefits, which include purification from previous karmic ties and improved mental focus for handling work and personal situations.

The practice serves as more than a food prohibition because it functions as a strong spiritual instrument that helps people unite their awareness with the universe’s protective energies.

Spiritual Facts and Rituals

The tithi (lunar day) lasts until 02:25 PM on this Friday period because the Vijaya Ekadashi Puja reaches its highest effectiveness during the early morning hours. 

The observance of today includes a custom that requires the worship of “Kalash” (water pot) through the establishment of a copper or clay pot that represents the deity’s presence.

Devotees offer yellow flowers and Tulsi leaves which Lord Vishnu considers his most beloved offerings, while they chant the Vishnu Sahasranama. It is strictly advised to avoid the consumption of rice grains and non-vegetarian food today.

The people who observe the fast will break their fast during the Parana period, which occurs on February 14 at the following morning.
