Days after the Lamborghini crash, a six-year-old boy lost his life, and six others sustained injuries after a speeding car ploughed into people and vehicles standing along the roadside in the Banthra police station area of Lucknow on Thursday evening, according to agencies. The driver fled the scene with the vehicle immediately after the crash.
Accident Near Hanuman Temple on Kanpur Road
The incident occurred around 7 pm near Hanuman Temple on Kanpur Road. According to reports, Pramod Kumar, a resident of Sahijanpur in Banthra, had parked his motorcycle by the roadside and stepped into a nearby shop when a car travelling from Lucknow towards Kanpur lost control at high speed and rammed into his bike.
After hitting the motorcycle, the vehicle continued in an uncontrolled manner and struck 12-year-old Armaan, son of Pape alias Pauwa, a resident of Banthra.
Family Among Those Hit
The speeding car then hit Sadhana Patel (35), her mother-in-law Meena Devi (60), and her six-year-old son Dikshant. The family, originally from Atwa Khurd in Unnao, is currently living on rent in Banthra, according to reports.
The vehicle also struck 42-year-old Awadh Bihari, an e-rickshaw driver from Patharaha under Sohramau police station limits in Unnao district.
Before fleeing, the car rammed into a parked autorickshaw, adding to the trail of destruction.
Child Declared Dead at Hospital
Passersby rushed the injured to a nearby private hospital and alerted the police. Dikshant, who was critically injured, was later referred to the Sarojini Nagar Community Health Centre, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Police have taken the child’s body into custody and sent it for post-mortem examination, according to reports.
An investigation has been launched, and efforts are underway to identify and trace the absconding driver using CCTV footage from the area.
Incident Follows Recent High-Speed Lamborghini Crash
The tragedy comes days after another accident near Ring Wala Chauraha on Sunday involving a Lamborghini Revuelto reportedly linked to tobacco exporter KK Mishra’s firm.
According to police and eyewitness accounts, the car lost control at high speed, rammed into an autorickshaw and a stationary motorcycle, and then veered onto the pavement, hitting pedestrians.
In that crash, autorickshaw driver Tauseef Ahmed and two motorcycle riders, Vishal and Sonu Tripathi, sustained injuries.
Kanpur police arrested 26-year-old Shivam Mishra in connection with the high-speed Lamborghini crash. However, a court granted him bail just hours after his arrest in the case, which left three people injured.
