MCD polls: AAP wins 107 seats, BJP lags behind

The latest trends show AAP capturing 107 seats and leading in 25; while the BJP is leading in 20 wards (winning 85).

Both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are claiming victory in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi polls, although the latest trends show AAP capturing 107 seats and leading in 25; while the BJP is leading in 20 wards (winning 85).

BJP spokesman Parvesh Verma stated that the people of Delhi had seen through Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s “lies” and voted for BJP.

He added “The people of Delhi are aware of Kejriwal’s falsehoods and are pleased with the work of MCD. Because of the 15-year restriction, there may be some anti-incumbency. People have witnessed the work we did during COVID, as well as for parks and hospitals. I am confident that we will win the election.”

On the other side, AAP MP Raghav Chadha said that the BJP buried the city in rubbish and the AAP would clean it up if it wins the election.

He stated that “AAP will be the mayor. BJP has buried Delhi with rubbish; it would be cleaned up, and Arvind Kejriwal’s government will be created in the MCD. The people of Delhi have opted to install AAP in MCD in order to make the city clean and attractive.”

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) passed the halfway point in the counting of ballots in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections on Wednesday, indicating that the exit polls that projected the party’s lead were correct.
