Government has brought Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao and society has welcomed it, said Anurag Thakur, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports of India at iTV’s first edition of We Women Want and Shakti Awards Conclave.
The Union Minister said, “Young daughters have received the biggest benefit of Poshan Abhiyan. The Central Government invested for institutionalised delivery mechanism which further lead to decline in rates of infant mortality and death of pregnant women.”
“I go to any school or college in my parliamentary constituency, there are 7 girls in top 10 students. You have sent your daughters to school and they have achieved the rest by getting in the army or being an officer. Hn’ble President Of India Droupadi Murmu came from a tribal community and pursued her studies and lead a journey of becoming the President of India,” added Anurag Thakur.
