While both the AAP and Congress are part of the opposition’s Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance, their stance on a pre-poll alliance in the upcoming elections, including those in Chhattisgarh, remains unclear.

As per the latest announcement by the Election Commission, the first phase of polling for 20 seats in Chhattisgarh is scheduled for November 7, with the remaining 70 seats to be contested on November 17. Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan are also slated for elections on November 7, November 17, and November 23, respectively, while Telangana is scheduled for polling on November 30. The counting of votes for all states is set for December 3. The elections in these five states are particularly significant as they precede the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April-May the following year. With the announcement of the poll dates, the Model Code of Conduct has now come into effect.
