Mahendra Choudhary, the former municipal council commissioner, and Mahendra Mevada, the head of the Sirohi Municipal Council in Rajasthan, are the targets of a gang-rape case.

They are being accused of gang raping about twenty women while pretending to be Anganwadi workers.

When a woman from Pali district went to the police and claimed that the accused had enticed her and about twenty other women with work prospects, the incident became public.

The accused allegedly recorded the sexual assaults, threatened to post the video on social media, and blackmailed the victims into paying money—demanding Rs. 5 lakh apiece, according to the woman.

The complainant claims that she traveled to Sirohi a few months ago to work in an anganwadi program with other women. They came across the defendant, who gave them lodging and food.

She also said that the food they were given included sedatives, which caused them to be sexually assaulted.

After they came to, the accused faced them and acknowledged that they had been tricked for personal gain. In addition, the accusers allegedly made requests that compelled the women to enter into sexual relationships.

As per Paras Choudhary, Deputy Superintendent of Police, the women had already submitted a fraudulent report. But after receiving a petition from eight women, the Rajasthan High Court has now mandated that a case be opened.
