In a show of solidarity and activism, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, along with party’s general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and actor Swara Bhaskar, spearheaded the ‘Jan Nyay Padyatra’ from Mani Bhavan Sangrahalaya to August Kranti Maidan in Mumbai on Sunday.

The padyatra, covering the symbolic distance between Mani Bhavan and August Kranti Maidan, witnessed a significant turnout of supporters and onlookers. Upon reaching the Kranti Maidan, Rahul Gandhi paid his respects with a floral tribute at the Gandhi Smarak Stambh, honoring the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and the struggle for independence.

Actor Swara Bhaskar lauded Rahul Gandhi’s efforts, particularly highlighting the impact of the two Bharat Jodo Yatras initiated by him. “The two Bharat Jodo Yatras led by him are commendable. I do not know any politician who has traversed through the country to listen to what people have in their hearts,” she expressed. Swara Bhaskar emphasized the importance of such initiatives in providing hope amidst prevailing disappointment and frustration.

In her statement, Swara also criticized the Centre over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), alleging a cover-up tactic. “They have been using this tactic to fool the public for 10 years,” she added, highlighting the ongoing political discourse surrounding the CAA and electoral bonds.

Earlier, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had spoken about Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, emphasizing its purpose in revealing the true state of the nation to the people. “Rahul Gandhi initiated the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ to make you all aware of the true picture of the nation,” she stated, underlining the necessity of understanding the country’s reality amidst challenges to public awareness.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi reaffirmed his commitment to the cause of justice, stating, “But this is not the end, it is the beginning of the fight for justice!” He reflected on the injustices faced by various segments of society during his yatra, expressing solidarity with the aspirations of the countrymen.

The ‘Jan Nyay Padyatra’ in Mumbai serves as a testament to the ongoing efforts by political and social leaders to engage with the public, address pressing issues, and advocate for justice and awareness.
