With the final WWE tour of John Cena approaching its end, the speculation fever is growing wild and there can be no doubts that the central figure of this speculation is one and the same, Seth Rollins. Cena in one of his recent tease had an evocative Instagram post that portrayed Rollins as he was shown celebrating his World Heavyweight Championship during the recent WWE SummerSlam which changed the hopes of scoring a long awaited match between the two.
John Cena’s upcoming fights
The move is buzzing among many supporters. Rollins is hardly a newcomer to the list of self proclaimed wrestling soulmates of Cena, which include the other members Randy Orton, Edge, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, and AJ Styles. It never comes out and says so, but that post is freighted with meaning, particularly as these two men are known to put on show stopping performances.
The time is particularly interesting. Cena already has a match coming up in Clash in Paris with Logan Paul, and Brock Lesnar is also stated to be scheduled to fight him in September. However, there may be a WrestleMania worthy not so subtle hint to note that WWE is still ready to give Cena one more memorable match against its hottest name, Rollins, until he says farewell at Fastlane in December.
Strategic as well as Emotional fight
As far as fans are concerned, it is not simply another wrestling match when it comes to the possibility of Cena vs Rollins as the two have a rich history that spans several years of their early rivalries, championship battles and the mutual admiration of the two men. One last chapter which would probably be a big pay per view event and provide a last high octane spectacle.
Nothing is that confirmed, though. The run is a strategic one and opponents Cena is facing during the farewell have been strategically selected in a manner that brings nostalgia as well as hard hitting action. As Darren reminds us, in case a Rollins showdown ever comes to fruition, it would obviously turn into an immediate classic.
