Mulayam Singh Yadav, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party patron, has died. He died today (October 10) at 8:16 a.m. at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram, at the age of 82. Mulayam Singh Yadav was admitted to Medanta Hospital on 22 August after complaining of shortness of breath and low blood pressure; however, his condition did not improve and he was transferred to ICU on the night of 1 October.

Sadhna Gupta, his wife, died in July.
