The UEFA Champions League draw in Nyon has officially set the stage for the rest of the 2025/26 tournament on Feb 27. With the introduction of a fixed knockout bracket, teams now know their exact potential opponents all the way to the final in Budapest. The draw paired the eight automatic qualifiers from the league phase against the eight winners from the recent playoff round.
Round of 16 Matchups
The most anticipated tie of the round is Real Madrid vs. Manchester City. This marks the fifth straight year these giants have met in the knockouts. Another heavyweight clash features Paris Saint-Germain against Chelsea. Fans in India can catch all these games at the standard 1:30 AM IST kickoff time.

The Road to the Final
The draw also determined the quarter-final and semi-final paths. The bracket is split into two halves, creating a “Path of Death” on one side. The winners of PSG/Chelsea will face the winners of Galatasaray/Liverpool in the quarter-finals. On that same side of the bracket, the survivor of the Madrid/City clash will likely face Bayern Munich in the next round. This ensures several massive favorites will be knocked out before the semi-finals.
On the other side of the bracket, Arsenal and Barcelona have what looks like a smoother path. If Arsenal beats Leverkusen, they will face either Bodø/Glimt or Sporting CP. Meanwhile, Barcelona or Newcastle will prepare for a quarter-final against either Atlético Madrid or Tottenham.
