Telangana BJP President N. Ramchander Rao on Thursday reassured farmers that there is no shortage of urea in the state and warned of strict legal action against those indulging in hoarding or black marketing.

Addressing the media at Chevella after offering prayers at Sri Balaji Venkateshwara Swamy temple, Rao appealed to farmers not to panic or resort to buying fertilizers at inflated prices. He asserted that the Narendra Modi-led Central government has supplied surplus quantities of urea to Telangana to meet the agricultural needs of farmers.

“If anyone is found selling urea in the black market, immediate legal action will be taken. Farmers should bring such cases to the notice of our party,” Rao said. He further assured that the Centre is committed to protecting the interests of farmers and that they would not suffer any losses or difficulties under the Modi government’s policies.

The BJP state chief criticized the ruling Congress government for allegedly spreading “false propaganda” about an artificial scarcity of fertilizers. “Congress leaders are trying to create unnecessary fear in the minds of farmers. They should stop misguiding the farming community for political gain,” he remarked.

Earlier, Rao, accompanied by party leaders, inspected a fertilizer, seeds, and pesticide shop in Chevella and interacted with farmers to understand their problems. He personally reviewed the supply of fertilizers and enquired with shop owners about the availability of urea.

Rao received a warm reception at Moinabad, where party leaders and workers greeted him with a giant garland carried with the help of a JCB, as part of his 24-hour Chevella constituency yatra. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from party cadres, particularly youth activists led by BJP Yuva Morcha General Secretary Kunde Ganesh.

The BJP chief will continue his tour with a night halt at Nanchair village. On Friday, he is scheduled to participate in a Mahila Sammelan at Aloor and address a Yuva Sammelan at Khanpur Gate.
