Delhi Monsoon Live Updates: Heavy Rains Lash NCR, Several Areas Waterlogged
Heavy rainfall lashed several parts of south and southwest Delhi on Tuesday morning, bringing much-needed relief from the prevailing heat but also causing widespread waterlogging and traffic snarls. Commuters reported slow-moving traffic on key stretches as water accumulated on roads, disrupting the morning rush hour. The downpour, though welcomed by residents battling the humid conditions, also highlighted the recurring issue of inadequate drainage systems in parts of the city.
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi will continue to witness a “generally cloudy sky with moderate rain” throughout the day. The weather office has predicted similar conditions for Wednesday, July 23, while lighter showers are expected on Thursday. Authorities have advised commuters to plan their travel accordingly, as intermittent spells of rain may lead to further waterlogging and congestion in low-lying areas.
