Parliament Monsoon Session Day 15: Lok Sabha Resumes
It is likely to be a day of tension both in the House and outside the House because on a day when Parliament was not sitting in 1960, the Home Secretary of that day, Mr Macleod, was arrested by the police.
On the other side, the INDIA bloc members of parliament have vowed to protest what they term as vote theft, as it is another hot day of political debates in parliament. This is the indication of a series of clashes between the Opposition and the government over a number of controversial topics. Meanwhile, work in the legislature will go on, and the Lok Sabha will discuss the Sports Bill.
The given bill is considered to redesign the current sports management system and achieve sufficient governance, transparency, and perpetuation of sports in the country. It would be an apt blend of politics and policy-making with the Monsoon Session entering its final leg on the last day of the week.
Lok Sabha proceedings have been adjourned until 11 a.m. on Monday, August 11.
Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju stated that Friday is reserved for Private Members’ Bills and related business. Despite this, protests persisted in the House, prompting the Chair to promptly suspend the session for the day.
With the constant chaos and protests, the opposition refused to listen. The Lok Sabha House has been adjourned till 3 PM on Friday, August 8, 2025.
Lok Sabha resumes at noon on Friday amid protesters and chaos in the background.
