In response to alleged comments made about Prophet Muhammad by suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader T Raja Singh, a sizable gathering of protesters assembled at Shalibanda in Hyderabad.

Following a lathi charge, the cops had the situation under control.

Raja had made disparaging remarks against the Prophet in a 10-minute video that was released, which sparked a great uproar and calls for action against him. He was arrested that day, but on Tuesday, when the court returned his remand motion and ordered that he be released right away, he was freed.

At the Dabeerpura Police Station, the FIR was filed against him in accordance with sections 153a, 295, and 505 of the Indian Penal Code.

His comments, according to the party, were contrary to party policy.

“You have stated opinions opposite to the Party’s position on several topics, which is in plain violation of Rule XXV. 10 (a) of the Bharatiya Janata Party constitution,” said letter suspending Raja.

Om Pathak, chairman of the disciplinary committee, stated in the letter of suspension, “I have been instructed to inform you that you are immediately suspended from the party and from any duties or obligations you may have, pending further investigation. Additionally, within 10 days after the date of this notification, please provide justification for why you should not be kicked out of the party. The signatories must get your thorough response by September 2, 2022.”

Prior to this, party had suspended both of its national spokespersons: Delhi politician Naveen Jindal and Nupur Sharma for making anti-prophet comments.
