The first round of the Gujarat Assembly election will decide the political future of 788 candidates. In order to maintain electoral transparency, live webcasting of 13,065 voting places in 19 districts is now taking place.
Today’s elections in 89 seats distributed over 19 districts in Kutch, Saurashtra, and South Gujarat began at 8 am and will end at roughly 5 pm. According to Gujarat’s Chief Electoral Officer P Bharathi, “there will be continuous observation from 6.30 am until the completion of the polling process through Live webcasting of more than 50% of polling booths in the state to keep a close eye on the voting process during the assembly elections in Gujarat.”
“The state-level monitoring unit based at Vidya Samiksha Kendra is actively monitoring all of these 13,065 polling places. Before voting begins at 8:00 am, 42 policemen in the monitoring room are constantly watching the livestream of polling places “P Bharathi remarked.
He continued by saying that senior authorities are also keeping an eye on the election via webcast from the state-level monitoring centre.
He stated, “Continuous surveillance will be done from 6.30 am till the conclusion of the election procedure.”
The entire structure has been put in place in accordance with the Election Commission’s directives. Voting is taking place in the first phase at a total of 25,430 polling places. Out of these 13,065, live webcasts of polling places are available.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is running from Ghatlodia, while AAP candidate for chief minister Isudan Gadhvi is running from Khambhaliya, former Congressman Hardik Patel is running for BJP in Viramgam, and former Congressman Alpesh Thakor is running for BJP in Gandhinagar South.
Gopal Italia, the state president of the AAP, is running in the Katargam district, alongside Harsh Sanghavi, the state’s home minister for Gujarat, Rivaba Jadeja, Jamnagar North’s Rivaba Jadeja, Bhavnagar Rural’s Parshottam Solanki, Jasdan’s Kunwarji Bavaliya, Morbi’s Kantilal Amrutiya, and Jetpur’s Jayes Vaghodia.
On December 8, the votes will be tallied. On the same day, the results of the Himachal Pradesh assembly elections will also be announced.
