Mumbai Indians’ fans were in for a treat as the team captain Hardik Pandya and pacer Jasprit Bumrah faced off in a centre-wicket net session. A video posted by the IPL franchise provided a hint of the intensity between two stars that cannot be matched.
Pandya Takes the Early Advantage
Hardik Pandya took the initiative of the duel. He hit the first ball of Bumrah over long on boundary with a perfect timing. Pandya followed this up by capitalising on a rather errant fuller delivery, pushing it gracefully through the fine-leg area. It then seemed that Pandya was in the ascendancy.
Bumrah Strikes Back with Precision
Jasprit Bumrah came back with the deadly precision that he is known to have. The bowler pitched a perfect yorker which Pandya, who was very deep in his crease, could not defend. The ball struck the bottom of the leg stump and Pandya was impressed. Bumrah smiled wryly as he walked back, while teammates and staff cheered loudly, shouting “well bowled!!” in admiration.
Bumrah’s Return After Injury
This show was soon after Bumrah came back to the field after a hard back injury. The pacer has missed the initial three matches of the IPL 2025 of Mumbai Indians as he was undergoing rehabilitation and waiting to obtain fitness clearance by NCA medical personnel. The injury began due to the New Year Test in Sydney where he had to work so much in the Australian tour.
Pandya and Bumrah Propel Mumbai Indians Forward
But, the best show has been given by Bumrah who has picked 18 wickets in 12 matches with an economy of 6.77. Hardik Pandya has also played a pivotal role and helped Mumbai Indians to recover a disastrous start. His strike rate of 163.50 and 14 wickets gave him the status of a significant all-rounder in this season.
The net session video clip does not only show the individual talent of Pandya and Bumrah, but also the spirit of Mumbai Indians. All these have made them energetic, precise and competitive and the same is the case with the franchise as they chase the IPL glory.
