Fighting Finish in the Individual Final
Manu scored 219.7 in the final to clinch bronze, finishing behind South Korea’s Jiin Yang (221.3) and China’s Qianke Ma (223.1). Despite a shaky start that saw her rank fifth after the opening five shots, Manu clawed her way back. A strong 10.5 on her 11th shot boosted her to second, but a 9.7 on the 17th nearly cost her a medal. Her composure in the closing stages helped her secure the bronze.
Team India Also Bags Bronze
Manu Bhaker, along with teammates Suruchi Phogat and Palak Gulia, won another bronze for India in the team event with a combined score of 1730. They were narrowly edged out by Korea (1731) and gold medal winners China (1740). This marks Manu Bhaker’s 10th podium finish at the Asian Shooting Championships.
Mixed Results for Other Indian Shooters
While Manu stood out, other Indian shooters missed the mark in the individual rounds. Esha Singh, competing with RPO status, scored 577 and finished ninth. Suruchi Phogat ended 10th with 574, and Palak Gulia placed 13th with 573. Despite solid efforts, none were able to crack the top eight for the final.
With her strong showing in both individual and team events, Manu Bhaker continues to shine as one of India’s top shooting prospects heading into future international competitions.
