Mumbai Rains: Mumbai is dealing with the fall-out of very heavy rainfall, and major airlines, including IndiGo Airlines, Akasa Air and SpiceJet have provided travel alerts for travelers departing the city today on Tuesday. In its travel alert, IndiGo noted that due to heavy rainfall and waterlogging where some of the roads that lead to the airport, their operation would face some challenges that could cause delays to both departures and arrivals.

IndiGo has stated that their teams are monitoring the development closely to limit any interruptions to their operaition, while passenger safety and comfort is their utmost priority.

SpiceJet also warned the passengers said adverse weather in Mumbai may affect departures, arrivals, and onward flights. “Passengers are encouraged to check flight status,” said the airline while also indicating that the situation is being monitored closely in order to minimize disruptions.

Akasa Air issued warning to passengers traveling not just from Mumbai but plane at Hyderabad, Goa Puncte and Guwahati. Likewise with high rains. The airline cautioned of possible road traffic delays to airports in these cities. ” To avoid any inconvenience to you while traveling we would like you to include a maximum amount of traveling time to reach the airport early for your flight.
Schools and Colleges Shut Down in Mumbai
Due to heavy rains all schools and colleges have been shutdown today in the Mumbai region on Tuesday. The Maha gov’t declared a holiday for all schools, anganwadi centres, and colleges due to the continuing rain. Closures apply for the Mumbai, Thane, Panvel, Kalyan, Dombivali, and Palghar, Raigad, Mira-Bhayandar, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg districts. IMD has taken the step of issuing a red alert for Konkan, which includes Mumbai, and predicting extremely heavy rain for Mumbai.
