Khamzat Chimaev became the new UFC Middleweight champion, proving to be too much to handle in Chicago University Fighting Championship 319, as he stepped up to veteran Dricus du Plessis and stamped his authority on the middleweight division with a remarkable wrestling display that left his opponent in a state of shock. Chimaev dominated each of the five rounds almost since the opening bell, and earned takedowns with ease, being on the top, including du Plessis in crucifix and side control positions and launching short precise shots.
