Dave Bautista (also known as Batista), once known as “The Animal” in WWE, has officially achieved a milestone that cements his place not just in wrestling history but now in Hollywood as well. While fans still remember his powerhouse presence in the ring, Batista has carved out a remarkable acting career now surpassing his former WWE rivals, The Rock and John Cena, in the world of cinema.

Batista Crowned Top Wrestler-Turned-Actor

According to Hollywood Reporter, Batista has been named the greatest professional wrestler-turned-actor, a title that puts him ahead of global box office icons Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and John Cena. While The Rock was the first of the three to transition into Hollywood superstardom, and Cena has recently gained momentum with roles in franchises like Fast and Furious and Peacemaker, it’s Batista who has earned the most critical praise.

His acting range and choice of roles from action to drama have helped him rise above his peers. For fans who recall Batista and Cena’s simultaneous rise to main-event status at WrestleMania 21, this latest achievement feels like a full-circle moment.

From WWE Exit to Marvel Superstar

Batista left WWE in 2010 to pursue acting full-time, but the journey was far from easy. Early in his Hollywood career, he struggled to find direction and even admitted to nearly going broke. Everything changed when he landed the role of Drax the Destroyer in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, which catapulted him into global fame.

Since then, Batista has appeared in high-profile films such as Spectre, Blade Runner 2049, and Dune. Though he made brief WWE returns in 2014 and 2019, his last match came at WrestleMania 35 in a loss to Triple H, after which he officially retired from wrestling.

A Legend in Two Worlds

While Batista’s in-ring days are behind him, his continued success in Hollywood sets him apart. Whether or not he returns to WWE for a cameo, his legacy is now firmly established both in the squared circle and on the silver screen.
