The Delhi High Court received a bomb threat through email on Friday, which placed the entire complex on high alert. Court proceedings were suspended immediately as most benches rose following the threat. Security agencies responded at once, cleared the premises, and evacuated judges, lawyers, litigants, and staff members.
Police cordoned off the court complex as a precautionary step, and additional forces were deployed. Officials confirmed that the threat message led to an urgent inspection of every section of the premises. The sudden evacuation caused disruption, but safety protocols were strictly enforced across the entire court building.

Threat Email Mentions Old Blast Model and Political Links
Police sources confirmed that the threat came in an email claiming a conspiracy similar to the 1998 blasts. The message mentioned links with international groups and suggested plots against different political figures. It also included allegations about corruption and dynasty politics.

The sender named several individuals and provided a phone number, which investigators have now verified. Officials said the message attempted to frame its narrative around political and communal tensions. Investigators secured a copy of the email for forensic examination and shared details with specialized cybercrime teams to identify the origin and intent behind the message.
Allegations of Conspiracy and Planned Attacks
The content of the threat mail escalated concerns because it contained references to targeted attacks on political heirs and claimed sleeper assets were in place for years. Authorities said the message described an inside conspiracy and mentioned law enforcement infiltration since 2017.
The email even referred to a possible attack inside the Delhi High Court itself, raising alarm among security officials. Senior officers clarified that these claims remain unverified but must be taken seriously. Intelligence teams are analyzing the statements and cross-checking every detail.
Agencies are also coordinating with state police to track leads linked to the alleged plot.
Security Agencies Begin Extensive Probe
Delhi Police immediately called in the Special Cell, while the National Investigation Agency (NIA) also joined the probe. Officials registered a case under relevant sections of law and began tracing the email’s source using cyber forensic tools.
The High Court premises were cordoned off, and a Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad inspected the building thoroughly. Security checks extended to vehicles and nearby areas to eliminate risks.
