Cristiano Ronaldo has finally, taken a tantalizing step closer to winning his first title with Al Nassr after beating Al Ittihad 2-1 in a 2025 Saudi Super Cup semi final match.

Four team knock out style provided a new zest to the Super Cup where the league and King cup winners and runners up, competed in the crown. This important semi final was won by the Al Nassr with a brace by Sadio Mane and a third goal by Joao Felix sent off by the very Ronaldo. Drama was created after Mane was sent off with a red card following an arguably heated protest but Al Nassr stood their ground to qualify to the finals. They have only one more match to win, and with it Al Nassr can have their first ever Super Cup since 2020 and represent Ronaldo with his long overdue first trophy after signing with the player owner organization in late 2022.

The influence that Ronaldo has had over this season is inarguable. He has already scored 35 goals in all competitions already, 25 in the league, 8 in AFC Champions League Elite and 2 goals in the Super Cup and has provided an assist in the competition currently. Team accolades haven been scant as his personal genius proceeds as Al Nassr placed third in the Pro League and bowed out in the kings cup in the Round of 16 and only managed to reach the semi final of the champions league elite with no trophy to show other than the second leg of the Super Cup final.
The current run of Super Cup will be an ideal chance to bring the drought of trophies in the club to a finish with Ronaldo receiving an opportunity to win a title in the presence of the loving fans. Victory in the final not only offers the reward to his excellent individual performance, but also to the win story that he has been seeking to chase in his career at Al Nassr.
