Stocks to Watch Today on August 19, 2025: Markets Set for a Positive Start, But Global Cues Stay Mixed
The Indian markets is set to kick off on a positive note today as well. As the GIFT Nifty futures were last up by more than 20 points, at around 24,988, suggesting a mildly upbeat open for the Nifty and stock market today.
Around the globe, the picture’s a bit mixed as global market has guven a mixed signal.
For future investments, Investors are now looking ahead to the US Federal Reserve’s Jackson Hole meeting. The meeting is scheduled later this week. This will results in as any hints about future rate moves could shake things up across markets, so there’s some caution in the air.
In Asian markets today, China’s CSI 300 and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng saw small gains, but Japan’s Nikkei, South Korea’s Kospi, and Australia’s ASX 200 slipped into the red.
Overnight on Wall Street, it was a quiet session to watch. The Dow and S&P 500 ended slightly lower, while the Nasdaq inched just a bit higher.
All eyes will be now on how the Indian market opens and if it can hold that early strength.
