Stop Chugging Water: Try These Tonics for happy Kidney

While water is essential for kidney health, certain natural tonics like barley water, coconut water, lemon water, and herbal teas can further support kidney cleansing and detox. These beverages help flush toxins, reduce the risk of kidney stones, and maintain electrolyte balance. Adding them wisely to your diet can bring variety and improved hydration.

Maintaining happy kidneys isn’t just about drinking more water; holistic tonics and herbal supplements can provide many unique and effective supports for kidney wellness.

Ayurvedic Kidney Tonics

Products such as Jeena Sikho Kidney Care Syrup and S. Crush Syrup (Dharishah Ayurveda) use the combination of the herbs Gokshura, Punarnava, Varuna and Palaash for detoxifying, eliminating toxins and supporting healthy urine flow. Ayurvedic tonics help relieve swelling, support urinary comfort and during times they can often dissolve small kidney stones. Ayurvedic tonics are generally safe to consume daily. For dosage, generally 5-10 ml of syrup would be taken twice-per-day with lukewarm water, or as advised by a physician.

Teas and Herbal Drinks

Basic, unsweetened, kidney-cleansing teas include green tea, black tea, hydrangea, and sambong, which have been previously linked to a lower risk of kidney disease, and support gentle detoxification. Fresh, pure squeezed lemon water (a natural source of citrate) also supports kidney stone prevention and natural cleansing. Unsweetened cranberry juice can also support kidney health.

Nutrient-Rich Tonics

Focus on taking vitamin B6, B9, B12, vitamin D, iron, and omega-3 fatty acids for optimal kidney health. For users, especially those with kidney issues, always use supplements and herbs with primary care treatment provider approval.

Cautions and Safety Guidelines

Always advise health practitioners of any herbal and other supplements. Certain herbs and herbal OTC tonics may not be appropriate for patients with (chronic) kidney disease or those on dialysis.

Use nature’s tonics and promote kidney health with kidney-cleansing herbal teas – there is more to healthy living than just drinking water and remaining well-hydrated, which is also important to a healthy functioning body.
