The Union Home Ministry on Thursday appointed senior IPS officer Satish Golcha as the new Commissioner of Delhi Police. Golcha is a 1992-batch senior officer of AGMUT cadre.
Incidentally, the decision came to appoint Golcha as the new chief of Delhi Police a day after Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was allegedly attacked during a public hearing (Jan Sunwai) at her official residence.
Golcha will take over the charge from SBK Singh, who has been officiating at the post. Singh, a full-time Director General of Home Guard (Delhi), has been serving the post since the retirement of former CP Sanjay Arora on July 31, 2025.
Who Is Satish Golcha?
