At least 80 individuals, among whom 28 are children, have been killed in the catastrophic floods that have continued to wreak havoc on Texas, officials confimed on Sunday as per Reuters. Rescue efforts are ongoing now, with major urgency around efforts to locate a number of girls still missing from a summer camp. Governor Greg Abbott told that 41 individuals are still missing and cautioned against possible new flash floods that going to occur, leading to further evacuations throughout the state.
President Donald Trump expressed his condolences to the victims of the flood and mentioned he is likely to visit the flood hit areas on Friday. In a statement in New Jersey, Trump referred to the tragedy as “absolutely horrible”. He confirmed that his government has been in touch with Governor Abbott. “God bless all of the people that have gone through so much, and God bless the state of Texas,” he further added.

During the 17th BRICS Summit that is happening in Rio de Janeiro, world leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned very strongly the terror strike in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir in April 22, which claimed the lives of 26 people. US President Donald Trump on Monday warned that any country siding with what he called the “Anti-American policies of BRICS” will face an additional 10% tariff—without exceptions.

The first round of indirect ceasefire talks between Hamas and Israel in Qatar has reportedly ended without any breakthrough.
Two Palestinian sources familiar with the negotiations told Reuters on Monday that the Israeli delegation lacked the authority needed to finalize any agreement with Hamas.
“Following the initial session of indirect talks in Doha, the Israeli delegation is not sufficiently mandated to reach an agreement with Hamas, as it holds no real powers,” the sources said.
