Austria based motorbike manufacturing company KTM has officially introduced its new 350cc variant for the 390 Duke and 390 Adventure in India. By adjusting the engine displacement to fall within the sub-350cc category, the company is leveraging a lower 18 per cent GST slab to make its performance-oriented lineup significantly more accessible. These newly launched variants will be sold alongside the existing 399cc versions, which the company has rebranded with the ‘R’ suffix to denote their flagship status within the mid-capacity range.

New 350cc engine: performance and update

The new variants are powered by a 349cc engine which generates 41.5 PS at 8,600 rpm and 33.5Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. Instead of the change in engine classification, the company has retained the core performance characteristics and riding experience.

The company has not changed anything in terms of visual to differentiate the 350cc variants from the 399cc models. The company continues to use the same ‘390’ badging and stickers, meaning both versions look similar in terms of design. This keeps the premium positioning intact, even for the more affordable options.

KTM Duke vs Adventure: Key Differences

While both the bikes have the same engine and core hardware, their character remains distinct. The 390 Duke 350cc continues as a street-focused performance machine with lower ground clearance of 183mm, lower seat height of 800mm, lighter kerb weight of 168kg, and higher power to weight ratio of 247 PS/ton.

Both the bikes get a 14.5-litre fuel tank which manintain a strong touring capability.
