On Sunday, the Kerala Cricket League (KCL) was sensationalized by Calicut Globstars power-hitter Salman Nizar as he was going outrageous against Adani Trivandrum Royals. Entering at No.6, the left-hander struck one of the most effective blows recorded in the tournament. His 86 off out of 26 balls scald was the game changer in Thiruvananthapuram.
Nizar’s Six-Hitting Storm in KCL
Nizar trailed the bowling since the beginning, and shocked the Royalties with his pure hitting. His fearless attitude was then written in history when he hit 11 out of 13 balls in sixes. The best moment of the 28-year-old was recorded in the 19th over when he hit Basil Thampir 31 times with five consecutive sixes.
The last over was still more violent. With Abhijith Praveen facing, Nizar threw all the legal deliveries into the stands, making half a dozen sixes with half a dozen balls. His batting average shot to an incredible 330.77 with a 71 run contribution in the final two overs by himself in the name of the Globstars.

Calicut Globstars Seal Win Against Royals
Due to the carnage of Nizar, Calicut Globstars reported a good figure of 186. The Royals, who had a target of 187, battled and kept on losing wickets when it mattered most. Their pursuit was terminated at 173, and they had 3 balls to finish, and 13 short of the total.
There was no surprise when Nizar was the Man of the Match. His concluding heroics did not only make him win but also engraved his name in the history of KCL with a show of fearless hitting that the fans will not forget easily.
Salman Nizar Earns South Zone Call-Up
The adventures of Nizar in the KCL coincide with the period when his career is progressing in his country as well. The Kerala batter has just been included in the South Zone team in the current Duleep Trophy. According to ESPN, the selection committee chose a balanced team of 15 members that is young and experienced.
The selections were largely contributed by the good Ranji Trophy performance of Kerala last season. Wicketkeeper Mohammed Azharuddeen who helped Kerala to reach the final has been appointed as the vice-captain. In his company are three other players of Kerala, namely, Nizar, MD Nidheesh and Nedumankuzhy Basil, who have been rewarded on the basis of their consistency.
