Despite a little dip at the box office on its sixth day, War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, has been stealing all eyes as a further promising upcoming edition to the YRF Spy Universe. Its exceptional star cast along with gripping action, thus marking another hit in the Bollywood box-office. But the clash with Coolie has put obstacles in the film’s box office journey. What will be the future of War 2? We can only wait and speculate!
War 2’s Steady Performance Against a Weekday Detractor
According to the Sacnilk data, War 2 raked in about Rs 8.25 crore net at Indian box offices on the sixth day since its release, adding the total collection to approximately Rs 192.75 crore.
A stellar opening of Rs 52 crore and a peak of Rs 57.35 crore on Independence Day saw the predictable drop during weekdays, which plummeted to Rs 8.75 crore on Monday.
Despite critical reviews, the combination of star presence and strong action sequences has kept drawing crowds, especially in the metro cities. The trend appears to promise a rise past the Rs 200 crore mark soon-enough, despite a tough competition with Rajinikanth’s Coolie.
Regional Driven Occupancy Dynamics
War 2 recorded a healthy performance on Day 6 in all major markets such as NCR and Bengaluru, with occupancies of 18.67% and 29.67%, respectively. Jaipur is an emerging Tier-2 superpower with an overall occupancy of 34.67%, thanks to tremendously strong evening shows.
Overall occupancy was 20.24% for the Hindi version, but maybe the Telugu markets will drive a larger revenue share due to their enthusiasm in the Jr NTR fan clubs. The Tamil version failed to make an impact here, reflecting the preferences for the regions.
Future Prospects and Spy Universe Impact
From an Indian perspective, Rs 200 crore is just around the corner for War 2, while its worldwide gross exceeded Rs 215 crore this time already, secured by an additional Rs 45 crores earned overseas. The high-profile cast such as Kiara Advani, and the post-credits tease with Bobby Deol for Alpha for keeping up the buzz, however, with mixed word of mouth and even more importantly competition from Coolie.
Considering trade figures, “with repeating and a strong second week,” would set War 2 on reaching Rs 250 crore within India and bestowing the feathers of honour upon it in the YRF Spy Universe alongside Pathaan and Tiger. We’ll keep you updated!
