Are Airtel Services Down? People Unable To Make Calls, Access Data, Flag Disruptions

Airtel is facing a disruption in its services on 18th August, 2025, Monday afternoon. Many customers have reported disruptions as they are not able to make calls or access mobile internet data. The outrage tracking platform Downdetector has reported an increase in the complaints at around 3:30 PM. Users had complained about both voice and data services disrupted.  3,600 people were affected by the outrage. The reported issues in the Airtel services were widespread. The affected users were from metro areas such as Bangalore, Mumbai, and Delhi who shared their concerns online.

The outage reports were split across services. 56% of users had raised the mobile phone issues, while 26 per cent of the users highlighted problems with mobile internet. 18% flagged a total lack of signal. Large clusters of complaints across urban centers were reported in the live outrage map. This suggested that both voice and data services were affected.

What was the reaction of users to the network outrage faced in the Airtel services?

Twitter users shared humorous memes on the network outrage faced in the Airtel services. One of the users shared a video showing many people typing something on the computers. The user captioned the clip, “Delhi-NCR folks refreshing Twitter to check if Airtel service is still down : #AirtelDown.” 

Airtel’s response to the disruptions in the services

Airtel has acknowledged the network outrage in its services and also informed about it to the users as well. In this post shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Airtel addressed a user and wrote, “Hi Vinay, we are currently experiencing a network outage, our team is actively working to resolve the issue and restore services promptly. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. Thanks, Team Airtel”.
