Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary and pledged to continue his unfinished mission. The Chief Minister asserted that Congress will not rest until Rahul Gandhi is made the Prime Minister of India, as only he can fulfill the aspirations and vision of Rajiv Gandhi.
Speaking at the anniversary celebrations in Hyderabad, Revanth Reddy described Rajiv Gandhi as an inspiration for youth and a visionary who laid strong foundations for India’s growth. He recalled Rajiv’s pioneering role in introducing computers, ushering reforms in the telecom sector, and promoting information technology. “It was Rajiv Gandhi who sowed the seeds for Hi-Tech City in Hyderabad. His foresight transformed India’s technological future,” the CM observed.

Revanth Reddy also highlighted Rajiv Gandhi’s contributions to women’s empowerment, poverty alleviation, and transparency in governance. He said the former Prime Minister sacrificed his life while striving to uphold national unity and integrity.
The Chief Minister announced that, in line with Rajiv Gandhi’s ideals, Congress would amend laws to enable youth who complete 21 years of age to contest Assembly elections once Rahul Gandhi assumes the office of Prime Minister. “Rajiv Gandhi believed in empowering the younger generation, and we are committed to realizing his dream,” he said.
Revanth Reddy Highlights Social Justice in State
Reiterating his government’s commitment to social justice, Revanth Reddy said Telangana has already taken historic steps by implementing 42 percent quota for Backward Classes in education, employment, and politics. He noted that Telangana is also the first state in the country to introduce Scheduled Caste sub-categorization, a move aimed at equitable development.
“Drawing inspiration from Rajiv Gandhi, the people’s government in Telangana is determined to achieve social and economic development. Our policies are guided by his vision of inclusive growth,” Revanth affirmed.
The Chief Minister concluded by stressing that Rajiv Gandhi’s life and legacy continue to inspire Congress. “Rahul Gandhi will carry forward Rajiv Gandhi’s mission. For that goal, we will continue our struggle until Rahul becomes Prime Minister,” he said.
