British motorbike manufacturing giant Royal Enfield is gearing up to step into the electric bikes. The company is working on its upcoming electric motorbike, Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6. The motorbike will be launched in India around mid-2026

The upcoming C6 restores the iconic Flying Flea nameplate, a lightweight wartime motorcycle originally developed by the company during World War 2. The motorbike becomes popular for its agility and the ability to be air-dropped with paratroopers, making it one of the most iconic motorbikes of its time.

The bikes were spotted testing in Chennai to suggest that the electric motorbike is near its final development phase. Unlike earlier prototypes that were heavily wrapped, the latest test mules appeared largely undisguised, indicating that the production design is almost finalised.

The motorbike was first revealed during the EICMA 2024 in Milan, where the company portrays its approach to electric mobility. Earlier to these latest road tests, the development prototypes had also been evaluated in extreme conditions in Ladakh.

Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 Design

The spy images of the upcoming motorbike suggest that the production bike will remain very close to the original concept’s styling. The design blends Royal Enfield’s classic aesthetic with modern electric architecture.

The key highlights of the design consist of a circular LED headlamp, girder-style front suspension, and a minimalist body layout. The motorbike also features an exposed aluminium frame, while a belt-driver system mounted on the right side is likely to deliver a smoother and quieter riding experience compared to conventional chain-driven motorbikes.

Other than these, the upcoming electric bike features the magnesium-finned battery casing which helps to manage heat more effectively rather than just contributing to the visual identity. There is also a centre stand which shows that the company has considered practicality for everyday use.

Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 Platform

The C6 is built on a completely new electric platform developed in-house by the company. The new platform will form the foundation for multiple future electric motorcycles under the Flying Flea sub-brand.

However, the company has not revealed the technical specifications yet, but industry expectations suggest the Flying Flea C6 will feature a mid-mounted electric motor paired with a belt drive.

The motorbike is likely to be positioned as the premium bike from the brand with pricing likely to fall between the brand’s 450cc and 650cc motorbikes. The company is expected to officially announce the launch of the bike as soon as the bike is in the near-production phase.
